Charles Frederick MALT

Private Charles Frederick Malt, 26602 Norfolk Regt, later 135394 RAMC was awarded the Victory and British Medals.

The Thetford and Watton Times of May 12 1917 reported:

Private Charles Malt, Norfolk Regiment, has written to his parents, Mr & Mrs H Malt, The Post Office, Weeting, informing them he has been wounded by shrapnel in France.

The issue of 2nd June include him in the list of wounded. Given the delays in compiling the official lists, this is almost certainly the same injury as that recorded on 12th May.

In 1939 his address is The Post Office, Weeting

He died on 9th July 1963, prior to which he had lived at 9 All Saints. His will was administered by Arthur Gordon Malt, postman.
