James MALT

James Edward Malt was born in Weeting on 1st April 1886

In April 1905 he joined the Royal Navy. Although his character was consistently rated as Very Good, he was dishaged as "unsuitable" on 28th October 1909

In 1911 he was working as a woodman on an estate, presumably Weeting Hall estate.

To date his war record has not come to light, apart from a report in the Thetford and Watton Times of 28th October 1916 that "All the five [Malt] sons are now in the army."

His died in the Warnford Hospital, Leamington, Warwickshire on 11th January 1961.
