William NORTON

William was born in Weeting in about 1894, the older brother to Frederick and Harry. According to the 1911 census he was employed as an Under Keeper.

The Thetford and Watton Times of Saturday September 19th 1914 reported that he was in the Norfolk Regiment. The issue of October 12th added the information that William was in the 7th Batallion.

The 7th Batallion, with William as one of their number, were deployed to France at the end of May 1915.

William then disappears from the record, resurfacing on his discharge from the army on March 23rd 1919.
